- Lower only Chrome’s slider to 35%. The system output remains at 100%.

Founder note
I teach and record all day on one Mac. The moment a browser tab screamed over a student's recital recording, I started building Shruti. It has been in the menu bar of my own machine every day since.
What's new
- Updates no longer wait forever because a saved volume, mute or effect control is attached to a silent app.
- A browser keeping its audio stream open does not block an update when Shruti’s healthy audio tap confirms it is silent. This uses the signal before Shruti’s mute and volume controls, so muted playback remains protected.
- Active recording, real playback, missing activity information and stale audio measurements still hold the update. After 10 seconds of confirmed quiet, an update you already chose can continue.

Does it work with any output device?
Shruti works with Mac output devices supported by its controls. Behavior can vary by device and audio route, so check your own setup before relying on it live.
Will it slow my audio down?

Does the software volume ceiling guarantee safe listening?
No. It is a software-level control, not a hearing-protection guarantee. Loudness depends on your Mac, app and output hardware; test the exact route on your own equipment before relying on it.
Is it a subscription?
Buy once. Lifetime use and all future updates to the apps you purchase, including future major versions. No subscription. The intended personal licence covers up to three Macs you use.
Can I join the beta circle?
Selected testers will receive a 30-day trial once trial-enabled builds are ready. The current download is not yet governed by that beta programme. A later paid purchase includes lifetime use and all future updates.
How many Macs can I use it on?
The intended personal licence covers up to three Macs you use. Device removal and recovery are being prepared; paid access is not available yet.
